This is a Kayapó mother and child from the Brazilian Amazon Rainforest and while she might not get shit for breast-feeding in public, her entire people is being forcibly evicted from their ancestral homelands in order to make way for the massive Belo Monte Dam, which will make thousands of indigenous Brazilians homeless while simultaneously destroying a large part of what is commonly referred to as the lungs of the world. 
In other words, western moral codes aren’t currently this mother’s biggest concern.

do you see the beauty that i see? the fierce mother. the strength of creation, combined with the love of a woman… smh. i’ve said it once and i’ll say it again: the downfall of our civilization stems from the subjugation of the feminine. we. give. life. stand and be amazed.

I love this picture.  The woman simultaneously represents a mother, a warrior and a protector all in one.
