Our lease ends at the beginning of June and the two couples (Roomies A & B and us) have expressed interest in separating from the other. All of us get along but it’s something we’d like to try out—the girls more than the guys from what I can tell. All four of us agreed that if either couple cannot find an apartment in the next four weeks, then we will remain together, a couple of couples.
It’s a fun experience touring apartments. Jenny and I visited some she liked and talked to the leasing people about the requirements of renting with them. Almost across the board, no one with a criminal record (read: me) can be on the lease and whoever is on the lease must make a gross monthly income of at least three times the asking rent. Jenny has good credit but doesn’t make enough to satisfy the latter term. Also, anyone who will reside in said apartment must be on the lease.
It’s very frustrating because I have a criminal record so I cannot be on the lease, which means they cannot know I will be living with her. I make more than three times the asking rent of most of the apartments we visited, but that won’t help our chances of approval since I cannot be on the lease. And even if they did flirt with the idea of putting me on the lease, my credit—ruined during my time in prison—would probably set off a DO NOT LEASE alarm with flashing red lights in their office. It’s frustrating because I cannot help Jenny find an apartment we can obviously afford. It’s frustrating that my past is hurting our chances of getting an apartment. And it’s frustrating that I can’t do anything about it.
Mini Spotlight // Surrogate Self // Part Two (Click Here For Part One)
Having recently stumbled across these fantastic abstract, 3D animations, we though that - in order to tide you over, until we find the time to write the next (very late) volume of Artist Seventy-Two, which we most certainly haven’t forgotten about - we would bring you some of the work from the self-confessed, ‘Geek Designer’, Surrogate Self,in a mini two-part upload, just to make you aware of his work, in the hope that you will love it just as much as we do. If you do dig his style of art, go ahead and follow him, and tell him that we sent you. You know, share the love and all that, we’d very much appreciate it, and we’re sure that he would too.I do like these photosets, now I feel like doing something with photosets
